Set up for (A2P) success
Two updates make US A2P (10DLC) registration easier to get right the first time.
  • Exemplar site and in-app guide
walks through every A2P requirement — what's needed and why — with a copyable link for each specific fix, linked directly from the registration form. View now
  • SMS/phone number status card
in account settings distinguishes "sender ID available" from "phone number active," adds an explicit "your number is being assigned" state, and tells you to contact support if assignment fails.
Why it matters
Most A2P registration rejections come down to something in the business's own setup: a missing privacy policy, incomplete terms of service, or an incomplete contact form. Previously, there was no single place to send someone stuck on a specific requirement, and a business could be told their SMS was "active" while no phone number had actually been assigned yet.
Now there's a clear, self-serve path to fix the most common rejection reasons, and account status accurately reflects what's actually working.
Who it's for
A2P registration is required for businesses located in the United States. These updates are helpful to:
  • Partners managing SMS or AI Voice and Chat Receptionist setup for their SMB clients
  • Businesses whose A2P registration was rejected or appears stuck
  • Anyone troubleshooting "SMS shows active but nothing is working"
How to get started
  1. If an A2P registration is rejected, visit the exemplar guide
  2. Check the account settings status card for an accurate read on where things stand: sender ID available, phone number active, or still being assigned.
  3. If phone number assignment shows as failed, contact Vendasta Support. There's no self-serve fix for that specific case today.
FAQs
Q: Does following the guide guarantee my registration will be approved?
A: No. Approval is still up to the carrier review process, but the guide addresses the most common rejection reasons: privacy policy, terms of service, opt-in language, and contact form issues.
Q: My business was rejected before this update with an unclear reason. Can I re-submit?
A: Yes. Registrations can now be re-submitted, including ones previously rejected without a clear reason.
Q: What's the difference between "sender ID available" and "phone number active?"
A: "Sender ID available" means your registration has cleared far enough to be assigned a number. "Phone number active" means SMS is actually working on that number. The settings card now shows both states separately, plus an in-between "being assigned" status.
